Useful excel shortcuts that can help you a lot of time. See the list of some useful excel jem.
⏩ Select an entire row with shift+space, a column with ctrl+space.
⏩ Insert the current date with ctrl+; and the current time with ctrl+shift+;.
⏩Get the sum of a group of cells by selecting all the cells, then hitting alt and +.
⏩Hide the row you currently have highlighted with ctrl+9, and the current column with ctrl+0. (That’s a zero.)
⏩To make a line break within one cell, hit alt+enter.
⏩ To see all the formulae in your spreadsheet, inside their cells, hit ctrl+`. (That’s the accent grave key, aka the tilde key, in the top left.)
⏩ ctrl + ‘ [apostrophe] to ditto the cell immediately above
⏩ F4 is the magic “do whatever I did last time” button! Highlight a cell and right click delete > entire row and it deletes. Then highlight any other cell and click F4 and it deletes — as long as you don’t do anything else in between clicks. Or, add a yellow background color to a cell. Go to any other cell and click F4, voila, it gets a yellow fill.
⏩ Ctrl + T - which highlights your data and opens up the new table prompt.
⏩ Ctrl Shift 1 to format as a number with 2 decimals
Ctrl Shift 2 to format as time
Ctrl Shift 3 to format as date MM-DD-YY
Ctrl Shift 4 to format as currency
Ctrl Shift 5 to format as percentage
Ctrl Shift 6 to format as scientific notation
